Alice Marie Walker, 81, of McKinley Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dick Means officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Alice Marie Walker was born July 15, 1934 in Mumford, Texas to Joseph P. and Johnnie (Ellison) Brake. She was a longtime resident of Carlsbad. Alice worked as a survey technician for the soil conservation service for over 35 years. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos with the girls. Alice also loved to dance and spend time with her grandchildren. She took pleasure in traveling, camping and watching hummingbirds. Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Pue; second husband, Amos Walker; long-time companion, Bill McGinnis; brother, John Edd Brake and sister, Donna Garrett.
Survivors are her sons: Alton Walker and wife, Linda Carlsbad, NM, J.A. Pue and wife, Kay of Las Cruces, NM; daughter, Starla Painter and husband, Mike of Queen Creek, Arizona; sister, Mary Jo Whitehead and husband, John of Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
