Obituary Alfredo F. Chino Gonzalez, 87, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the New Mexico Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences, NM. Visitation will be 5 PM 7 PM, Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Prayer service is scheduled for 7 PM, Sunday at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery. Alfredo F. Chino Gonzalez was born on July 25, 1931, in Presidio, Texas to Petronillo and Bertha Gonzalez. Alfredo Chino served in the Korean War as a solider he also worked for 19 years with the Santa Fe Railroad Chino was also a minster of the Gospel, ministering for many years at Eddy County Detention Center. Alfredo, along with Christian brothers, took multiple trips to Mexico, to build Churches there. Chino helped build his Church, Iglesia de Dios Vivo, in Carlsbad and worked closely with his pastor, Javier Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Enriqueta, brother Cruz Gonzalez from California, brother Petronilo Gonzalez, Jr. from Carlsbad, Jesus Gonzalez of Carlsbad, sisters, Gloria from California, Bertha Hernandez from Artesia, Elvita Gonzalez from Loving, New Mexico and sister Mede Gonzalez from Carlsbad, and also a grandsons: Victor, Randall and Gilbert. He is survived by daughters Sally Alvers of St. Louis, Missouri, Lily Contreras of Hobbs, New Mexico, Carol Vallejos and Birdie Melendrez of Carlsbad, New Mexico and sons; Lorenzo Gonzalez of Artesia, New Mexico and Pedro Gonzalez of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
