Obituary Alejandro Hondo Florez, 77, of Carlsbad, passed away March 3, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be 3:00 PM 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary is scheduled for 9:30 AM, followed by Liturgy of the Word on Monday, March 11, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Dominguez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Hondo was born March 1, 1942 in Carlsbad to Raymundo and Antonia (Rodriguez) Florez. He worked in the oilfield for many years. Hondo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernardino Florez, Santana Gonzales, Faustino Gonzales, Pablo Gonzales, Manuel Nevarez and sister, Teresa Garcia. He is survived by his brother, Joe R. Florez of Carlsbad and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Israel Garcia, John Florez, Jacob Florez, Paul Gonzales, Terrick Meyers and Robert Marquez.
