Albert H. Estrada

Albert H. Estrada, 61, of South Cypress Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Albert was born on December 9, 1959, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Alberto F. Estrada and Christina (Hernandez) Estrada.

Visitation is scheduled from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Following a vigil is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will be at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Albert grew up loving the outdoors, and one of his favorite spots was still to be in his backyard. He always enjoyed entertaining friends and family having them over for cookouts, and he especial loved getting everyone together for an Easter celebration at the river. Albert was a great cook, and was known for his asado, menudo, and roasting green chile. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing, camping, and dancing to his music. Albert worked for the City of Carlsbad for over forty years as a heavy equipment operator and foreman until he retired. He was a loving and caring husband and father, and made friends everywhere he went. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; Alberto F. and Christina Estrada: three sons: Albert Estrada, III, Dalbert Estrada, and Jerry Mendoza; daughter, Melissa Estrada; and nine siblings: David, Gilberto, Avel, Rose, Rosemary, Teresa, Rojelio, Emma and Paul; grandson: Timothy.

Albert is survived by his wife, Dolores Estrada of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Angelic Campos and husband, Michael of Carlsbad, NM; son, Eric Estrada of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Erica Estrada and fiancé, Jason Shackelford of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Erin A. Estrada and wife, Alicia of Carlsbad, NM; nineteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eleven siblings: Josie Trevino, Minnie Juarez, Rosa Medrano and husband, Isaias, Pete Estrada, Esperanza Mendoza and husband, Rick, Oscar Estrada, Helen Anaya and husband, Gerald, Ruben Estrada and wife, Polly, Roy Estrada and wife, Irma, Henry Estrada, Richard Estrada and Johnny Munoz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eric Estrada, Erin Estrada, Richard Estrada, Roy Estrada, Henry Estrada and Ruben Estrada.
