Albert O. Johnson "Al", 89, of Dogwood St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Landsun Health Services Center.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place and private family services will be held in Texas.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Albert O. Johnson, "Al", was born on June 29, 1922 to Frank L. and Cora (Bradford) Johnson in Drumright, Oklahoma. He graduated from high school in Kilgore, Texas. Al served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Al enjoyed working in refrigeration and was a pipefitter in commercial construction. He was a pilot and loved to fly. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, and visiting with family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Robert Johnson; one brother; one sister; and grandson, Kerry Boatman.
Survivors include his daughters, Sherri Boatman and husband, Gary and Sandra Rosenbaum and husband, P.J., both of Houston, TX; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
