Aileen Morgan, 91, of S. 6th Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Landsun Homes. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Aileen Morgan was born October 28, 1921 in Eakly, Oklahoma to Harry Theodore and Vera Ann (Kerran) Griffin. She graduated from Eakly High School. Aileen moved to Carlsbad in 1947. She married Marion Harris Morgan on January 9, 1948 in Lovington, NM. Aileen worked at the Deluxe Cafe for over 19 years as a waitress and cashier. She and Marion crafted and painted wood crafts which they sold in numerous shows and stores. Aileen was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marion H. Morgan. Survivors are her son, Edmond E. Morgan, Sr. of Brownfield, TX; grandson, Edmond E. Morgan, Jr. of Tennessee; granddaughters: Tammy Morgan of Carlsbad, NM, Tanya Willis of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandchildren, Juston Hood, Peyton Willis, Lexi Willis; great-great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Hood and brother, Forrest Eugene Griffin. Pallbearers are David Gilbert, Kenny Parker, Bill Gillock, Jimmy Gillock, Raymond Clark and Stewart Parker.
