Adria Joy Mize

Adria Joy Mize, 75, of Lea Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 25, 2010 at Landsun Homes - HSC. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Lee officiating. Private Interment will be in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Adria Joy Mize was born July 26, 1935, to Leo John Crist and Ethel Marie (Shankey) Crist. She attended school in Minnesota. Adria married Franklin Mize on January 22, 1954 in Carlsbad. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her delicious huge cinnamon rolls that melted in your mouth. Adria enjoyed gardening and traveling as well. She was preceeded in death by her parents; grandson, Gary McClinton, Jr.; sisters: Delretha Johnson, Caroline Vaness and Dorothy Binning. Survivors include her husband, Franklin D. Mize; children; Everett Joseph Mize and wife Denise of Logansport, IN, Cynthia Ann Roberts and husband, Ed of Jackson, MO, Carey Lee Mize of Carlsbad, NM, and Tavia McClinton of Afton, OK; six grandchilrden; six great-grandchildren; brother Leo John Crist, Jr., and wife, Debbie of Corona, CA; sisters: Audrey Rolleston of Las Vegas, NV, Madeline Grimes and husband, Billy of MN, Joann Young, Shirley Niner and husband, Dick; numerous neices and nephews.
