Adon ""Don"" G. Martinez

Adon G. "Don" Martinez, 56, of West Bonbright Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 14, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:45 PM, Sunday, April 18, 2010 A vigil is scheduled for Sunday, April 18, 2010, 5:45 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 19, 2010, 2:00 PM, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Cyprian Uline, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Adon G. "Don" Martinez was born June 14, 1953 in Carlsbad, NM to Jose A. and Belma F. (Gomez) Martinez. He was known for his open heart, and his ability to make a friend with who ever he came across. Don always tried to include his companion "Princess" in any activity that would allow dogs. His love for his family and friends will never be forgotten and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Martinez; brother, Sammy Martinez; sisters, Socorro Martinez and Rose Marie Martinez. Survivors include his mother: Belma G. Martinez of Carlsbad, NM; siblings: Yolanda Martinez, Danny Martinez, Ricky Martinez and wife, Kim, Helen Martinez, Joe Martinez, David Martinez all of Carlsbad, NM, Johnny Martinez of Los Lunas, NM, Sophia Gonzalez and husband, Abe of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eddie "Chapo" Martinez III, Robert Melendrez, Dan Masetso, Joe Gomez, Sr., Jimmy Orozco, Zachery Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Edwardo "Sport" Martinez and Tommy Martinez.
