Adelaida "Lalita" Arcaute

Adelaida "Lalita" Arcaute, 95, of North 5th St. , Loving, New Mexico, passed away March 14, 2013 at her home. Funeral services were held in Mercedes, Tx. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Mercedes, Tx. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Adelaida "Lalita" Arcaute was born on November 4, 1917 in Brownsville, Texas to Ignacio and Dolores (Garcia) Trevino. She married Ruben Arcaute in Santa Maria, Texas. While living in Mercedes, Texas, Lalita worked as a housekeeper for a local hotel for 40 years. She was a resident of Loving for the past nine years and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving. Lalita was a hard worker and a good provider for her family. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with family and friends. Lalita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ruben Arcaute; daughter, Maria G. DeLaRosa; and six sisters and brothers. Survivors are her daughter: Francesca Estrada of Loving New Mexico; sons: Jesus Arcaute and wife, Rosa of Mercedes, Texas and Roberto Arcaute of Divine, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
