Adela Dominguez, 70, of South Mesquite Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no public visitation. A Vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Adela D. Dominguez was born August 22, 1942 in Artesia, NM to Gilbert and Maria Nieves (Lopez) DeAnda. She married Mike Dominguez, Sr. August 26, 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Dominguez, Jr., daughter, Mai-Ling Rodriguez; sisters: Eloisa Saldana, Rosa Emma Rodriguez and brother, Joe DeAnda. She is survived by her husband, Mike Dominguez, Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; five children: Chris Dominguez and Roger Chavez of Plains, TX, Roy DeAnda of Carlsbad, NM, Rachel Calanche and husband, Daniel of Carlsbad, NM, Janet Burnett of Weatherford, TX, Ralph Dominguez of Carlsbad, NM; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Eusebio DeAnda of Sierra Vista, AZ, Gilbert DeAnda, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and sister, Oralia Contreas of Artesia, NM.
