A. Elman Cude

A. Elman Cude, 92, of Wyoming St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 10 2016, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Engledow officiating. A graveside service will take place Monday, September 12, 2016, 2:00 PM in Rule Cemetery, Rule, Texas. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A. Elman Cude was born October 27, 1923 in Foster Community near Haskell, Texas to Bud and Delma (Carroll) Glover. She married W.D. "Jeff" Cude April 10, 1946. They moved to Carlsbad later that same year and bought a house on Wyoming where she has lived until her death, 70 years later. After Jeff died in 1976, Elman went to work for Carlsbad Municipal Schools where she managed the snack bar at Eisenhower Junior High until retiring. Elman had been an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since 1948 until her failing health. She enjoyed her association with the Eastern Star and Rebekah's through the years. Elman was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.D. "Jeff" Cude; grandson, Steven Ray Hodge; son-in-law, Steve Hodge and brother, Jalea Glover. Survivors are her children: W. Don Cude and wife, Sue Beth of Goodland, KS, George Cude of Carlsbad, NM, Twylia Hodge of Crossett, AR, Bruce Cude and wife, Dawn of Amarillo, TX; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Ben Glover of Rochester, TX and several nieces and nephews.
